Manton Property was asked to carry out a complete renovation of a modern family home in the Wiltshire village of Ramsbury.
Bought in the Spring of 2017 the Manton team was given two months to strip out and completely renovate this lovely house on the hill overlooking Ramsbury. Whilst structurally sound, the property had not been refurbished since the early 1980s and as such needed a sympathetic and modern redesign.
The wall between the old-fashioned dining room with Butler’s pass through to the kitchen simply had to go! The bathrooms were small and unsuitable for larger baths, walk-in rain showers and family bath times. The property also required a full re-wire, new plumbing and gas work to the ground floor. We were also asked to install a real wood fire in place of the old gas one.
We removed the structural wall between the two rooms and with the use of a 4 meter long steel RSJ created a wonderful open-plan kitchen and dining area. A dark oak wooden floor in the dining area, and rustic travertine tiles in the kitchen created a wonderful environment for the client’s young family. Larger, family-friendly bathrooms were created by moving soil pipes and installing a clever valve system. Recessed, energy-efficient LED lights were installed throughout the property. The fireplace issue was resolved by installing a JetMaster fire which we have been told works remarkably well!
What the client said
“Al, Brad and the team were a professional ‘breath of fresh air’. Quietly and reassuringly confident in both the design and build elements of the project we never doubted either timelines or budgets – principally because we were kept up to speed with costs and deadlines at each and every step of the way. We are thrilled with the end result and have now asked the team to help on family properties in the Cotswolds. Thank you Manton!” Mrs ACM, Ramsbury, Wiltshire
