Don’t Let Creativity Die

We are entering a period that feels more uncertain than many would like to admit. Pressures on households, rising costs and a general sense of caution can make it tempting to delay decisions, defer improvements and hold back on the things that shape how we live.

But challenging times do not mean creativity should be abandoned. If anything, they make it more important.

Uncertain periods sharpen our focus. They force us to ask what truly matters at home, what actually improves daily life, and which changes offer lasting value rather than temporary indulgence? Creativity becomes less about aspiration and more about intention. At Manton we begin with a simple question. How do you live?

It is surprising how rarely this is asked. Yet everything flows from it. How do you use a kitchen? How do you relax? How does your family move through the house? How do you want your home to function, not how it happened to function for the people before you.

Thoughtful improvements, good maintenance and intelligent protection are steadying acts in uncertain times. They safeguard value. They protect the life lived inside the walls. And they prevent small problems from becoming major expenses later.

This is the foundation of our work at Manton Property, supported by Manton Protect. To help clients evolve their homes with imagination. And to protect them with diligence.

So as you move through your home in the weeks and months ahead, ask yourself.

How do you live? How do you want to live?

Creativity is not dying. But it does need champions. Even in difficult times, it deserves to be protected.

Don’t Let Creativity Die

Philip Shaw, Manton Property

Philip leads commercial growth, marketing and professional relationships at Manton, working across the firm’s advisory, project management and residential security services.

Before joining Manton, he co-founded Savernake Knives, where he led marketing, partnerships and business development. His earlier career included London hospitality, safari operations in East Africa and country operations for Adam Smith International in South Sudan and Pakistan.

Those roles gave him direct experience of operational risk, security planning and intelligence-led decision making in complex environments. At Manton, Philip applies that background to the firm’s growth, reputation and position as a trusted adviser to private clients, families and professional introducers.

The detail varies. The role does not.
