Meet the Team
Alexander Mackay
Founder
Alexander founded Manton to advise clients responsible for significant residential property, estates and hospitality assets.
He brings direct experience in ownership, redevelopment and the commercial turnaround of property. His career began in 2001 with an international private equity firm, where he became Managing Director of the Hotels Division and helped build, restore and reposition a portfolio of British country house hotels.
He later launched a construction and renovation business in the Middle East, focused on luxury residential property, before returning to the UK and establishing Manton.
Today, Alexander advises trustees, family offices and private owners on acquisitions, redevelopment, estate restructuring and major investment decisions before capital is committed.
His work is focused on protecting property wealth, improving long-term value and ensuring significant assets are passed on with purpose.
Philip Shaw
Commercial Director
Philip leads commercial growth, marketing and professional relationships at Manton, working across the firm’s advisory, project management and residential security services.
Before joining Manton, he co-founded Savernake Knives, where he led marketing, partnerships and business development. His earlier career included London hospitality, safari operations in East Africa and country operations for Adam Smith International in South Sudan and Pakistan.
Those roles gave him direct experience of operational risk, security planning and intelligence-led decision making in complex environments.
At Manton, Philip applies that background to the firm’s growth, reputation and position as a trusted adviser to private clients, families and professional introducers.
